Al-Huda Primary School’s curriculum is organised in the spirit of the national curriculum but is certainly not limited by it. The curriculum is arranged in a way where each child receives all round education equipping them with a breadth of academic skills and knowledge. We aim to provide a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum, which engages all our children.
Reception class learning is based on the learning goals of the Foundation Stage curriculum. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a play-based curriculum for children from birth to five years, which allows children to explore and learn in an environment that is secure and safe, yet challenging. The EYFS has a programme, which we follow and is designed to help the children to achieve what are known as the ‘early learning goals’. These are targets that most children are expected to achieve by the time that they leave the reception class. This will provide a firm foundation for National Curriculum work in Year 1.
